Corn Maidens

by wjw on February 5, 2007

More updates from our world of home improvement.

Here we see a lovely southwestern sunset as viewed through the wrought-iron security doors that were installed following our burglary. Ernie’s Custom Iron Works in Albuquerque provided the lovely (and quite reasonably priced) “corn maiden” design, which allows us to view the world through an aesthetic creation rather than through a set of prison bars.

You found a beautiful solution to a pain-in-the-butt problem. They look gorgeous!

That’s a very nice design, and a good way to keep a utilitarian necessity from spoiling the view.

You should always put cosies on the machine gun turrets. If nothing else, it confuses the enemy.

And the corn maidens are really lovely. When I lived in New York, my bars were actually just bars.
