More Pics from Taos

by wjw on July 23, 2007

What these pics don’t tell you is how hard everyone worked.

But maybe they’ll serve as advertising for future workshops.

Now that’s what I call false advertising. You don’t show us starving and diving on the last slices of bread and sandwich meat. You don’t show that we could only go to the hot tub in the wee hours of the morning and spent the rest of the time chained to our critiques and writing. Yeah, right. Make it look like it was a two-week picnic, you slave driver.

The pics also don’t show me slacking off on doing the exercise assignments in favour of shopping in Taos, singing opera on the veranda, and socializing with fellow participants.

Opera singing on the veranda would for sure help market the Toolbox, don’t you think?

Also, fighting chipmunks for the last of the chile cheese bagels.

You also left out the part about racing down the mountain dodging coyotes, deer, chipmunks, and lines of quail in a mad dash to make it to the copy place to pick up stories five minutes before the place closed, not to mention scouring the grocery store for the choicest bits of meat, cheese, and the ever-popular green chile cheese bagels that SOMEBODY just had to have, and slaving in the kitchen making brownies to feed the hordes of hungry writers invading the place just to watch a movie . . .
