Truth To The Powerless

by wjw on September 27, 2011

Here we see a video of trader Alessio Rastani telling startled BBC interviewers that the world economic system is going to collapse, that millions will lose their money, and Goldman Sachs will rule the world (if it doesn’t already).

Why is he telling saying this in public?  Because nothing we do matters, that’s why. All the important decisions have already been made.

Maybe we should all start preparing our pitchforks and torches.

The man’s a douchebag, but he couldn’t be more correct. Its like we’re on a sled, heading downhill at high speed for a tree, and the guy steering is just trying to see how fast he can go.

The wierdest part right now is watching gold drop. I mean, that used to be the world’s thermometer.

Seen this followup? http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2011/09/27/alessio-rastani-hoax-on-bbc_n_983156.html

If it *is* a hoax, it’s quite clever.

well, yes, the BBC would say that, wouldn’t they? I like the interview with him for The Telegraph where he says he’s a hobbyist and an attention seeker.
