The Multiverse on Sale!

by wjw on March 8, 2015

implied_Spaces_04_750Implied Spaces is now on sale for $0.99 at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords.

It’s supposed  to be on sale at iBooks, but for some reason Apple seems not to have got the word.  This situation may be corrected by the time you read this, however.  UPDATE: the problem has been solved, and iBooks now has the book at $0.99.

The book was originally published on such a garbled schedule that most of my readers never found it.  If you haven’t encountered the book before, consider this your invitation.

Aha. The Singularitypunk novel!

Do you think about dropping traditional publishing altogether? Your horror stories about the industry even made it into Dagmar’s backstory.

I’m going to bet a crabcake dinner that Walter won’t be forsaking traditional publishing anytime soon, as the actual numbers don’t work out for supporting oneself via self-publishing except for a very select few. That said, I predict he’s going to continue down the hybrid path he’s been following for the last few years.

Being a denizen here for some years I was fortunate enough to snag Implied Spaces when it first came out, but will happy snag it at B&N so I can rate & review it there.

I’d rather continue publishing new material traditionally, but I do insist on (1) at least as much money as I could make self-publishing, and (2) a decent contract. I’ve already turned down one offer on these grounds, and have no problem with turning down more.

Traditional publishing is so slow and creaky and stupid that it becomes harder and harder to deal with it in comparison with the ease and convenience (and speed!) of self-publishing. It’s so much easier to do it all myself and know that it’s done right. Except that doing it right is a lot of work, and I’d rather spend that energy on writing.

Happily, I found Implied Spaces by surprise at B&N when it first came out. I hadn’t heard a word about it beforehand. It was a great read. I’m going to buy it again for electronic reading on planes, now that I can’t waste my airliner captivity laughing at SkyMall goods.

Bought! And found out you have short stories in the ‘Voice of the Whirlwind’ setting for a buck too – picked up a couple of those while I was shopping. Thanks again for more reading material!

Alas, the price in the UK remains at £2.99. Perhaps some perverse revenge for the burning of the White House in 1812?

Andrew, the sale ended March 16. Sorry . . .
