Wild Cards on the Great White Way

IMG_0266-768x826Wild Cards will soon be coming to a Broadway theater near you.  In a lavish musical production written by members of the Wild Cards Consortium and Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of Hamilton.

Miranda will himself star as Dr. Tachyon, the flamboyant alien who tries and fails to prevent the spread of the wild card virus on Earth.

Also cast are John Hodgman as the supremely evil Dr. Tod, and Sibel Kekilli (Shae from Game of Thrones) as Blythe van Rensselaer.

unnamed-7The music will be an innovative blend of hip-hop, blues, and period-appropriate big band music.  Songs include:

“I Can’t Die Yet”  (Jetboy’s Song),

“Sleepless” (the Algebra Song),

“Jokertown Blues,”

“Coming Up Aces,” (the Four Aces),

“Names, Names” (Golden Boy’s song).

My character gets a solo!  Cool!

. . . the end of the first act will be a spectacular unlike anything ever seen before on Broadway, as Dr. Tod’s blimps float across the theatre raining down spores on the audience below.  Ninety per cent of the theatre-goers will draw a black queen and “die,” to be sure… but a tenth of the audience (chosen at random) will be twisted and transformed into jokers, and one in a hundred will be designated as aces, and will join the cast on stage for the opening number of the second act.”

Tickets are not yet available, but for more information, stay tuned to the official Wild Cards site.
