Hazards of Travel

IMG_5081So here’s a new one!  Observe that suds are pouring out of my hotel toilet and covering the floor.  There was also a strong disinfectant smell.

It was also happening in a neighboring room.  The hotel custodian confessed himself baffled, and helped me evacuate to a room higher in the building.  At midnight.

There was a ferocious rain storm going on at the time, though I’m not quite sure what that would have to do with it.  I thought maybe someone on an upper floor had poured a quart of disinfectant into his toilet and flushed it, but I’m just guessing here.

New hazards of the road.

Tell the custodian the vent stack in the drain line is likely clogged. Get a plumber.

Narrow escape, Walter. Your hotel toilet had gone rabid, and would have bitten you on the ass if you’d tried to use it.

Hydrophobia is a bitch when you’re basically something made to hold several gallons of water.
