Take Two

The second Covid test came out positive. I don’t know which test to believe, but I guess I’ll be hanging around the house for a while.

False positives are far, far rarer than false negatives, especially with lateral flow tests, suggesting that you should weight the second test much more heavily than the first.

As Henry said regarding tests. The consensus of the medical folks I know, and two virologists to boot, is right now if you feel like you have a cold or flu, even if you test negative initially, assume you’ve been hit with omicron. And when I say “consensus” I mean “That’s what every single one of the dozen or so I’ve asked say.”

I hope you get better soon. By the way, I am eagerly looking forward the publication of “Lord Quillifer” next month.
