Oh to be in England now that This Is Not a Game is there!

You don't get a second life… That's a GOOD tagline.

Good looking cover, too.

This Brit has, of course, read it. I bought the large format pb with the, not very distinguished, silver cover (fortunately the contents were highly distinguished).

Congratulations!

Do the Brits edit American books the way American publishers edit British books? I know I am often annoyed at many of the changes made by American publishers and would rather read the original, British slang and all. Besides, I think colour should be spelled with a "u" anyway.

Anyway, if they do edit it, what sort of changes are made?

Yep, I'm another Brit who bought an import copy – nowadays it's often cheaper to buy a second hand US copy and pay postage than to buy in the UK. I'd rather buy a new UK copy, but not if I have to wait for this kind of delay.

How the Brits edit American books depends on how much time and money they want to spend. Some publishers have given me a careful copy-edit in which all American usage is changed to British, and some British publishers just buy the American plates and print the American version with the copyright notice changed.

Anon, I can understand you buying a foreign edition if money or timing considerations are a factor, but please bear in mind that if you buy a =used= edition of any kind, I receive no money!

Kindly send me a couple bucks, okay?
