Please Help George

When I mention the name “George R.R. Martin,” I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “Hey, didn’t he write some good stories back in the Seventies?”

Yes, yes he did.  He wrote some great stories.  And then George moved out to California, and stuff happened, and . . . well . . .

But whatever happened back then doesn’t matter, because I’m happy to tell you that George is back!  He and Gardner Dozois (who has won all the editing Hugos of all time, just about) have a new anthology out, called Rogues, and it’s got brand-new stories in it by great writers like Neil Gaiman, Connie Willis, Gillian Flynn, Joe Abercrombie, Daniel Abraham, and many others.

Including me.  I have a story in it called “Diamonds from Tequila,” narrated by Sean Maken of The Fourth Wall, about his further adventures in the picture business. (And inspired by the fact that you actually can make diamonds from tequila, which is a true fact, on the Internet and everything.)

George even contributed a story of his own, set in his World of Spice and Ire, or whatever it’s called.

Rogues should be available at your local bookstore starting today, or you could find it on Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Amazon, and on iBooks. (Though for some damn reason, even though I have page right in front of me, iBooks won’t let me link to it, because they’re iBooks and their interface totally sucks!  And somehow they think they’re going to compete with Amazon, which has one-click service, to which I say HA!)

I know that I’ve been putting up a lot of posts lately about books you should buy (because they have my name on the cover), but you should really consider this one (which quite unaccountably does not have my name on the cover), because it will help my friend George, who has been off in California doing all this obscure stuff, but who now has a book and everything!
