1980 is effectively in the Seventies, because the Eighties didn’t begin until 1981, when Reagan took office.
Just as the cultural phenomenon we call the Sixties didn’t begin until November 1963, when Kennedy was shot. And the Sixties didn’t end until Nixon resigned, in 1974.
Only if you include 1980 in the seventies. Which actually would be logical (in at least two ways) to do, sort of.
I distinctly remember that this skit originally also had roller skates and cocaine use.
