Part I of an interview with me, conducted by Devin Fields of the Flyover Fandom blog.

Part II coming up . . .

“…the response I got to all my other proposals is that they were just too weird. You hardly ever hear that as a criticism in science fiction.”

I love this! And, of course, it is true.

By the by, I would be interested to know what your other books proposals were.

I remember a mystery proposal with a protagonist who partook freely of illegal pharmaceuticals, and with a plot that revolved around amanita mushrooms. Would have been an ideal character for a cyberpunk novel, but for the straight-laced mystery crowd, it might as well have been set in Oz.

…a protagonist who partook freely of illegal pharmaceuticals…”

Well, it worked for Sherlock Holmes! Though, of course, they weren’t illegal then.
