The good: the eye surgery has been a success. I can now read newsprint with my left eye, where before it would just have been a blur. My retina has been slowly uncrumpling.
In bad news: my knees are in worse shape than I thought. Knee replacement has been recommended. I’m reluctant to do this until I get over the side effects of my 2019 hip replacement: a tilted pelvis, scoliosis, 24/7 chronic leg pain, and a limp.
For the last two days we’ve been beset by hordes of tiny, very hungry mosquitoes. They’re barely larger than gnats, but they show up in battalions. I’ve never seen mosquitos this tiny. Did they just hatch, or is it a new invasive species?
It’s likely that these are a new Asian invader. If they are a light brown, stay at ground level, attack your feet and ankles, bite repeatedly, and cause intense but short-lived itching, then yeah. You will never be able to see them attacking in order to swat them. If they get into your house, you will need mosquito netting around your workstation and bed. Electric mosquito rackets with the switch taped to “on”, stationed around your ankles, may help.
May I ask what your publication schedule looks like for Metropolitan 3, Quillifer 4,5,6, and Praxis 7,8,9?
Perhaps a change in orthopedists might be warranted too. Eek.
The mosquitoes will attack everywhere. They seem to prefer the legs, but then all mosquitoes do. They are dark brown and easy to swat once you see them.
Jim, these are brand-new orthos. I was warned that surgeons will prefer knee replacement to other treatments, so I was prepared.
